A friend of mine gave me a good bit of advice before Ayaan was born:
1. You’ll get loads of advice from people so make sure you listen to it all;
2. And smile politely, file the advice away and do things your own way.
Good tip actually, considering how much “advice” we have already received!
Actually he told me another good bit of advice: “if you have a boy, keep it covered when you change the nappy. Boys have a habit of…spraying”.
Unfortunately I obeyed rule 2, smiled politely and promptly forgot.
So, first time I tried to change his nappy….he can be dangerously accurate, as my mother-in-law found out! We’ve changed him on the dining table a few times and…let’s just say there’s a couple of places you probaby don’t want to be sitting at.
