Did you know that babies hiccup a lot? It sounds hilarious, but it gets annoying for them after a while. He still hiccups a bit, although it’s slowing down day by day.
His hiccuping is funny to see – it’s something I definitely don’t want to forget about! He always looks a bit surprised when he hiccups, as if he’s been caught off guard! All the “old wives’ tales” methods of curing the hiccups – giving a scare, drinking water, standing on your head (we haven’t tried that one, obviously…) – don’t work with babies. After a while he gets really agitated as he doesn’t understand what is going on.
We’ve actually found that the only way to cure the hiccups is to put him down and let him bawl his eyes out – they tend to stop pretty quickly after that. Yep, that’s right, one of those rare occasions that we actually want him to cry…
