Sitting on my throne

Baby A is a lucky one. He’s always getting something new. He’s had his new travel cot, his baby bouncer, a new monitor (alright….that was more for us)….and now he gets his brand new high chair.

We’re suckers for advertising, so we bought the Chicco highchair from good ol’ Mothercare. It’s won awards didn’t you know! Well, according to the Mothercare website anyway….doing an internet search suggests it was only actually shortlisted….

It fell to me to work out how to set it up. Seriously, for the prospective dads out there, I would suggest getting a degree in Engineering first. The amount of fiddly bits just to work out how to set up a high chair! (that goes for the travel cot too!).

Despite the “awards” (or lack of), it is a pretty sturdy thing. It has a million buttons on it to change positions, letting you raise it, lower it, lift the arms, move the footrest, adjust the tray, tilt the seat back, etc. It takes a while to work out what everything does (Hint: read the manual. I didn’t. Just remember…that Engineering degree will come in use to decipher it).

I’m exaggerating of course. It wasn’t actually that bad to put together….

Anyway…here’s Baby A looking ecstatic in his new throne. Obviously in anticipation of the food that is to come.

He looks pretty low down, doesn’t he? This was before I worked out how to adjust the height by pressing one of the many buttons (Mummy A: “Isn’t he a bit low down?” Me: “It’s meant to be like that….”).

Read the manual. Please.
